Grocery Chain Announces Discontinuation of Plastic Bags
C&K Markets, the parent company for Ray’s Food Place is announcing that effective January 14th, they will no longer offer plastic bags. The company operates 65 stores and 15 pharmacies throughout the region.
C&K says the move is help cut down on plastic bag waste and part of a renewed commitment to responsibility and sustainable practices.
Customers may choose from paper bags, or buy re-usable bags for 99-cents each. As an incentive, people who buy re-usable bags will have their names entered into drawings for 25-dollar gift cards.
