The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department has released the name of the pedestrian who was struck and killed on Table Rock Road last night at around 8:30. 54-year old Frank Charlton was attempting to cross the road near the Whiskey River Tavern when he was hit by northbound Honda Civic driven by 19-year old Jesse Meadows, who was reportedly driving 45-50 miles per hour. The impact threw Charlton into the southbound lane of traffic. He immediately turned on his flashers and called 9-1-1. Though Meadows attempted to stop traffic, a southbound motorist- 21-year old Jacob Lyon- hit charlton a second time. Both drivers submitted to roadside tests. Neither driver was impaired. Toxicology results were taken for Charlton, but were not available at press time. Both drivers were traveling at around the 45 mile an hour speed limit.
