Grants Pass police say a 31-year old pedestrian died early today after he was hit by a vehicle on Redwood Avenue near Kellenbeck Road. After receiving numerous 911 calls, police arrived shortly after 1:35 a.m. to find 31-year old Nathaniel Pike lying dead on the roadside. They also found the vehicle’s driver, 54-year old Steven McClun trapped inside his vehicle. After being extricated McClun was treated for his injuries at Three Rivers Medical Center. Though the investigation is continuing, it is believed alcohol may have been a factor.
