Prescribed Burning Today In Ashland Foothills

With the idea in mind of maintaining a healthy ecosystem and enhancing fire safety, Ashland Fire and Rescue is conducting a prescribed, low intensity burn starting today for a three day period. The burn will occur on forest lands on Ashland Loop Road above Morton Street. Hikers and mountain bikers need to be aware there will be several trail closures including the upper Bandersnatch, Alice in Wonderland, and Waterline. BTI and lower Bandersnatch will remain open. Nearly all trails in Siskiyou Mountain Park and Oredson-Todd Woods area are open as well. Visit www.ashlandwatershed.orego for trail updates. Expect to see smoke during the burning period.
