Ashland Police say a 21-year-old woman who was helping a blind woman with errands stole $6,000 to $8,000 from the woman's bank account.
Sgt. Jim Alderman says the suspect was paid to help with day-to-day activities, such as getting groceries and banking. He identified her as Chamika Emmalia Fujioka.
Alderman told the Ashland Daily Tidings the young woman would use her victim's personal identification number and get $40 out of the bank for the victim, $400 for herself.
But eventually the victim found that her account was being drained, and she called police.
Fujioka is accused of theft, identity theft and fraud.
