The following advisory as come from the Forest Service concerning the recently re-opened Bear Camp Road: "Due to predicted snow accumulations of 3-6” on the Bear Camp Road, the Weather Service is advising the public to avoid traveling the Bear Camp Road tonight through tomorrow.
The Bear Camp Road was re-opened for public travel on May 17, 2013. However, due to current weather conditions, we are unsure as to whether the road will be in driveable condition by the holiday weekend. Snow may still be on the road, making conditions hazardous. Drivers are encouraged to exercise extreme caution in using the Bear Camp Road under these conditions and to be prepared with survival gear, including extra food, water, warm clothing, sleeping bags, flashlights, mirrors, whistle, etc., and to let someone know your travel plans and expected return time."
