Medford police say that a stabbing last night (Wednesday) was gang related. At around 10 p.m., an officer was stopped by a young man who said he was walking home when a man on a bike stopped him, and asked about his gang affiliation. He says the rider began menacing him when he said he didn’t belong to one. After the conversation between police and the pedestrian, the officer later heard a disturbance in the 500 block of Plum Street. Police arrived to find the victim had been stabbed. When the bike rider re-appeared, the victim knocked on the door of a home where two men he did not know were living. He asked if he could come inside to seek safety from the bike rider. The attacker kicked the door down and began stabbing the victim before the men living in the house pulled the attacker off the victim. The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment of his injuries. Police have not found the attacker. Police are looking for a Hispanic male between 5-foot-6 and 5-foot-8 in his early 20s. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a blue bandana, dark clothing, and he was riding a BMX bike.
