News - Oregon Wildfires

By admin Tue 6th August News
There's a chance of new fires breaking out this week with lightning expected in the south, moving north as the week continues. Cool and relatively windless weather has helped firefighters over the past few days. That's about to change. While progress has been made on the ground, forestry spokesman Brian Ballou says that's only because they haven't been able to employ help from the sky with air tankers and helicopters. The 73-hundred acre Whisky Fire Complex east of Tiller is said to be 25-percent contained. With the Big Windy Complex in the Rogue River Canyon zero percent contained as well as the two thousand acre Labrador Fire 30-miles southwest of Grants Pass.
