Woman Who Died In Fishing Vessel Crash Identified

A woman who died after a fishing vessel wrecked off the north jetty of Coos Bay has been identified as 50-year-old Vera Jean Saltsman. Petty Officer Nate Littlejohn says U.S. Coast Guard crews recovered Saltsman's body Monday night 1 1/2 miles southwest of the entrance to Coos Bay. Crews were able to rescue two men - 53-year-old Dan Campbell of Roseburg and 50-year-old Bruce Geddie of Reedsport - and their dog. Littlejohn told The World newspaper (http://is.gd/umhNTW ) the fishing boat broke into pieces after smashing on the rocks late Sunday and was unrecoverable.
