Nearly two thousand pounds of fresh, locally grown produce- including squash, potatoes and onions has been donated to the Emergency Food Bank in Ashland by the Ashland Rotary Club. Volunteers were responsible for providing over 450 hours of preparing, planting and harvesting. A harvest of carrots, green beans and radishes later this week should bring donations above two thousand pounds. Word of this donation comes at a time when food banks are expecting more demand due to cuts in social services.
