Real Estate Values In Southern Oregon Increase, Sales Decrease In Some Areas

By Jim McCoy Mon 4th November Newsexisting home sales report
Home prices in Jackson and Josephine counties continue to rise. The latest figures from the Rogue Valley Association of Realtors and the Multiple Listing Service show while prices are up over last year, the number of home sales have dropped almost 10 percent during that time in Jackson County, but continue to increase by more than three percent for Josephine county. The median price for a home in the Medford area is now 208-thousand dollars while standing at 165-thousand in Grants Pass. Prices have risen dramatically as the number of foreclosures and distressed sales decrease. For example, in Jackson County, so-called “normal” transactions made up over 84-percent of existing home sales for the 90 day report period between August and October
