For just the third time since 1970, no one died during the New Year’s holiday on Oregon roads. The last time was in 2010, the first was in 2003. 29 were arrested for drunk driving the 30 hour holiday period. Last year, 78 were cited for DUII. The Oregon State Police joined with other law enforcement agencies to beef up patrols to keep the roads safe. The Springfield command reported 6 DUII arrests. The Central Point command didn’t register enough to make the list.
