Pacific Power Foundation Makes Grants To Two Regional Non-profits

The Pacific Power Foundation has awarded two grants totaling $6,500 to two non-profit organizations in southern Oregon- the Britt Festivals and the Youth Symphony of Southern Oregon. Monte Mendenhall of Pacific Power says "We're proud to support organizations like the Britt Festival and Youth Symphony of Southern Oregon that offer opportunities to engage everyone, especially youth in the arts and enrich their lives. Britt Festivals provides cultural experience of a quality that is usually experienced only in larger metropolitan centers. It's also gratifying to be able to help reduce the economic barriers area young musicians might face in participating in the Youth Symphony of Southern Oregon's concert series." The Britt Festivals will receive $5,000 from the Pacific Power Foundation, which will assist with year-round education outreach programs, according to Britt President and CEO Donna Briggs. The $1,500 grant to the Youth Symphony of Southern Oregon will supplement the organization's music training and performance opportunities for young musicians from throughout the region.
