Motorcycle Rider Crashes In Central Point While Trying To Elude

A motorcycle rider trying to elude police Wednesday night crashed near Central Point. 31-year old Richard Meyers of Eagle Point was spotted by police riding at a high rate of speed on Beebe Road at around 9:35 p.m. When authorities attempted to stop Meyers, he ignored them and took off, committing further traffic violations. Meyers turned down a gravel driveway on Gibbon Road and crashed. He then ran towards a field. K-9 officers were deployed. Meyers was found by K-9 officer Darco and arrested. Meyers suffered a minor dog bite. After being treated for the bite and other injuries, he was lodged in Jackson County Jail. He was riding with a suspended license and was on probation. For this incident, Meyers faces charges of Attempting to Elude In A Vehicle, Attempt to Elude on Foot, and Reckless Driving.
