The Medford School District may have to adjust the school calendar if a teachers strike continues after this week. Secondary education director Todd Bloomquist also told the Mail Tribune (http://bit.ly/MeuGuj ) the district may have to reevaluate high school graduations dates set for June. Teachers went on strike Feb. 6, and classes resumed Feb. 11 on a half-day schedule with substitutes. Negotiations continue with the Medford Education Association. Issues include contract length, health insurance, cost of living raises and early retirement incentives. Medford has Oregon's eighth-largest district with 13,500 students and 600 union teachers. Students at Medford high schools staged a walkout out this morning. The Dove's Steve Johnson was told by students they weren't learning anything and wanted to voice their frustration with the strike.
