A Jackson County work release inmate who walked away from the transition center in Talent on Friday was caught Monday in Medford.
The Medford Area Drug and Gang Enforcement Team spotted 23-year-old Jacob Granger and arrested him after a short chase. Investigators found 17 grams of heroin in his car with a digital scales and packaging material. They believe he was dealing heroin out of a motel on South Pacific Highway.
Granger is back in jail facing drug charges and the probation violation.
The Mail Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/1k8NiuF ) he was convicted last year of robbery.
