Lane County Leading Oregon In Computer Recycling

Lane County is a front-runner in recycling old computers and other electronic devices. The state Department of Environmental Quality reports Lane County accounted for nearly 4 million of the 28 million pounds collected last year in the Oregon Electronics Recycling Program known as Oregon E-Cycles. The county total was up 27 percent, compared with a 4 percent increase statewide. Lane County waste reduction specialist Sara Grimm tells The Register-Guard (http://stjr.nl/1fsgy9a ) county citizens have "an ethic toward reuse." She says the county also has an aggressive public relations program.
