A Northern California fire that interrupted power to residents of Scott’s Bar, Klamath River and Horsecreek over the weekend has been contained. The River Fire that began just off of highway 96 near the mouth of the Scott River burned 17 acres. High winds hampered containment throughout much of the night. Power will be restored when it sure that conditions are safe.
The fire remains under investigation. Officials from the Klamath National Forest urge caution with anything that can cause a spark.
