Kitzhaber asks attorney general to sue Oracle Corp., over failed Cover Oregon website. Kitzhaber addressed a state legislative committee Thursday afternoon. The state paid Oracle Corp. $134 million in federal funds to build what turned out to be a glitch-filled Cover Oregon site. Instead of signing up for health insurance in one sitting, Oregonians had to fill out paper or online applications that had to be processed partially by hand.
Oregon abandoned plans for fixing the site and is switching to the federal portal.
The state is still withholding $25.6 million in payments from Oracle.
Cover Oregon's transition agreement with Oracle, which stipulated no legal action while the agreement lasts, ends on May 31.
