UPDATE (12:36 p.m.)- Search and rescue personnel have recovered the body of 7-year-old Dakota Vincent from the Rogue River. He was found 50 feet downstream from the Parkway Bridge in roughly 8 feet of water. Fire rescue personnel from the Grants Pass Department of Public Safety have been unable to find a seven-year-old boy pulled underwater with a girl and an adult female Wednesday at Baker Park in Grants Pass. When rescue personnel responded to the 9:08 p.m. call, they found the young woman and her 5-year-old sister being attended to by bystanders who rescued them. Numerous police officers, fire rescue personnel and others searched extensively through the night and morning, but the boy has not been found. The Grants Pass Department of Public Safety thanks all who have assisted with the search and rescue, and remind people that even with the lower levels, the water can be dangerous. Be sure to take all necessary precautions, including using life vests and protective gear.
