By Jim McCoy Thu 21st August News
A beloved member of the Cave Junction community stricken with liver cancer is the subject of a fundraising effort at their local Dutch Bros. For an entire week, Aug. 25 through Aug. 31, the Dutch Bros. Coffee location in Cave Junction will donate $1 from every water sold to help pay for medical expenses for Janie Pope. Janie has lived her entire life in Cave Junction and worked at Illinois Valley High School for 25 years. She is an avid runner and has coached the Cross Country team. “There is rarely a person that hasn’t been touched by cancer,” said Nicole Frohnauer, Dutch Bros. Cave Junction, Manager. “The best thing that we can be do is to come together as a community and power through.” In addition to the sale of water supporting Janie’s treatment there will also be a Run For Janie at Jubilee Park on Saturday, Aug. 30. Dutch Bros. Coffee of Cave Junction will also serve as a donation site.
