What is being described in the Medford Mail Tribune (http://www.mailtribune.com/article/20140903/NEWS/140909929) as a "good sized" black bear kept students at Mae Richardson Elementary in Central Point indoors this morning. Police kept an eye on the bear while it wandered through a neighborhood near the school in west Central Point. The bear was first seen in a back yard, then it proceeded to wander towards some brush near Griffin Creek. An officer was hopeful if the bear wasn't made to feel threatened, that the animal would wander back in to the wild. At last report, there was no plan to tranquilize or shoot the bear. Lt. Scott Logue said the 300 pounder displayed no signs of aggressiveness or menacing behavior.
