Annual "Tip-A-Cop" event at Applebees restaurants tonight

Local law enforcement officers and police department personnel will be trading in their handcuffs and badges for aprons and menus tonight as they seek to earn tips at all Oregon Applebees restaurants.

The annual “Tip-a-Cop” event is hoping to raise $30,000 for Southern Oregon Special Olympics. It is part of a series of fundraising events and torch relay runs organized by off-duty law enforcement representatives to raise money and public awareness for Special Olympics.

It runs tonight from 5pm to 9pm.
