Crater Lake Rim Drive to get facelift
The near 30 mile rim drive around Crater Lake could be in for a facelift, along with adjacent spur roads and parking areas.
U.S. National Park Service officials say numerous cracks and ruts have appeared in the road surface and shoulders have eroded, due in part to the over 500 inches of snow the park receives annually, along with the 482,000 visitors.
The project would shore up rock walls, lay new asphalt and make traveling safer for visitors.
There is no timeline or budget yet for the work.
