Gay pride event this weekend in Ashland
Saturday’s gay pride parade in Ashland could be almost double the size of last year’s inaugural event. Organizers say over 1,000 people are expected to take part in the event with hundreds more lining the streets.
The parade, which is a part of Southern Oregon Pride’s weekend-long pride festival, has 32 entries, compared to 19 last year, when around 600 marched the parade route.
Ashland Mayor John Stromberg will serve as honorary grand marshal for the parade, which begins at noon, and is expected to last around an hour.
