Injured Ashland skateboarder in fair condition

An Ashland teenager found unconscious in the street in the early morning of September 23 after falling from his skateboard has been upgraded to fair condition by Providence Medford Medical Center.

19-year-old Simon Brooks suffered a severe head injury during the fall near the intersection of North Mountain Avenue and Larkspur Lane in Ashland.

A police investigation shows Brooks fell while traveling down a steep hill. He was found by a friend who had been with Brooks and who had decided to walk down the hill.
