"Mayor's United" against hunger campaign

By Steve Johnson Thu 18th August News

A third annual campaign to feed the hungry in southern Oregon is underway.  The “ACCESS” hunger campaign hopes to raise enough money in the next month to provide a quarter of a million meals throughout the area.

11 mayors in southern Oregon have joined the effort to help the estimated one thousand homeless in Jackson county.  The head of “ACCESS” says those needing their help has changed over the years from single adults to families with children.

From now until September 17th  “Mayor’s United”  hopes to raise 50-thousand dollars for the 250-thousand meals they want to provide.  That’s about 100-thousand more than last year’s goal.
