Medford crash leads to assault
A weekend crash in Medford involving a bicycle and a vehicle led to an attack on the driver. Medford police say 20-year-old Ryan Burton, who was driving the vehicle, sustained minor injuries to the face after the rider of the bicycle, 20-year-old Ryan Pridemore, allegedly punched him in the face.
In the accident, which happened Saturday afternoon at Highway 62 and Whittle Avenue, a passenger on the bicycle, 19-year-old Chelsea Logue, was thrown to the ground, requiring hospital treatment for minor injuries.
Police say the accident occurred when the cyclist failed to stop at an intersection, through which the vehicle was already moving. Pridemore was cited by police for unsafe operation of a bicycle, unlawfully having a passenger on a bicycle, and assault.
