Medford divides funds among local nonprofits

Medford City Council will soon be giving final approval to the disbursement of over $300,000 in general fund money among some two dozen social service agencies.

Medford has been allocating operating funds to local nonprofit health and social services organizations for over 25 years.  Among the struggling agencies slated to receive funding  is ACCESS, who have temporary approval to receive just over $100,000.

At a time when demand for services is swamping many, Jackie Shad, Deputy Director for ACCESS, says they are grateful that basic human needs are being recognized.
