Medford Jazz Festival to re-brand?

By Steve Best Wed 5th October News

The annual Medford Jazz Festival, which takes place this weekend, might be undergoing a name change in the not-too-distant future.

Organizers feel there may be a perception problem with the three day musical event, since many who attend are from out of town, and not so many young people seem to be attending.

Festival Director Dennis Ramsden says the festival might be better called a music festival instead of a jazz festival, since it really embraces blues, rockabilly, 1950s rock, western swing and even zydeco music.

A broader title to the festival might lead to a broader aged audience, and more from its home town
