Medford School Board votes against facilities rental

After more than a year of discussion, the Medford School Board voted last night against a new facilities rental schedule, which includes charging nonprofit organizations for use of district facilities.

Some board members were concerned that the imposition of fees might transfer costs to children. The board may discuss the issue in future, but for now, community and nonprofit groups will continue to use Medford schools’ facilities for free.
