Medical marijuana growers arraigned
A Grants Pass medical marijuana grower and an associate are being charged in federal court with illegally growing 100 or more marijuana plants.
35-year-old Jason M. Nelson and 61-year-old Richard M. Sherman of Cave Junction were arraigned in U.S. District Court in Medford.
It is alleged that Nelson was a grower for four medical marijuana patients, with Sherman as an employee.
Prosecutors are seeking to seize Nelson’s property as proceeds of a criminal venture. They also want the forfeiture of three machine guns, two silencers and an uzi short-barreled rifle which were seized during the case.
