Oregon receives grant for health rate review

Federal officials have approved Oregon’s application for $4 million to continue its in-depth analyses of health insurance company rate requests, and to incorporate public hearings into its review of those requests.

The grant covers a three year period, and Teresa Miller, administrator of the DHSS’s insurance division says it will enable the review of rate requests to be opened up to the public, since feedback suggests people would welcome that opportunity.
