A PLAN TO DESIGNATE FEDERAL LAND FOR LOGGING IN THE STATE COULD GIVE OREGON SOME ECONOMIC BREATHING ROOM ACCORDING TO AN OREGON CONGRESSMAN.  PETER DEFAZIO (Rep.-D) HAS JOINED WITH OTHER MEMBERS OF OREGON’S CONGRESSIONAL DELEGATION IN PUSHING FOR INCREASED LOGGING ON PART OF WHAT IS CALLED “O AND C LAND”. 

IN A RECENT SPEECH TO THE PORTLAND CITY CLUB, DEFAZIO SAYS HE IS HOPEFUL OF A PLAN TO RESTORE FEDERAL FUNDING FOR AT LEAST ONE YEAR.
