Property taxes may fall in November for some
As real estate values continue to slide, one side effect could be a fall in property taxes, with a drop expected for 37% of Jackson County residences in November.
This is causing some concern for fire districts, irrigation districts and the county, since they rely on revenues from property taxes.
The market value of all properties in the county fell by 9% this year, after a decline of 14% last year. Some taxing districts in the county could be harder hit than others because market values have dropped faster in their areas.
