Veterans' trail to be improved
A near mile-long section of dirt path alongside Highway 62 used by veterans is to be widened and paved.
The path, which has been dubbed the “Ho Chi Minh Trail” by Vietnam vets at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Rehab Center in White City, is used to walk to and from the center.
The path has become rutted and eroded by weather and use, but the Oregon Department of Transport is to pay a contractor $138,000 to improve it. Work starts Monday.
