For the second year in a row, the deadline for filing both federal and state tax returns will be a little later than usual. Steve Best explains why…

This year’s filing deadline of Tuesday April 17 is later than normal, and once again this is because of a holiday observed in the District of Columbia.

The filing deadline has been delayed due to the Emancipation Day holiday, and applies to both federal and state returns.

Although over 100,000 paper forms have been mailed in Oregon to taxpayers, both state and federal forms can be downloaded from the Department of Revenue and IRS websites respectively.
