The Ashland Film Festival experience will receive a much-needed boost in 2012 thanks to some grant funding. Steve Best has more…

The independent festival is one of over 800 recipients from the National Endowment for the Arts, and will receive $10,000 to bolster their April 2012 event.

Festival Executive Director Anne Ashby Pierotti says the grant will enhance the Ashland Film Festival experience.

Pierotti says the money will help fund filmmaker travel costs, but will also offset operating expenses so that initiatives like the filmmaker panel discussion “TALKbacks” can be offered free to attendees, in support of the festival’s commitment to educational programming.
