A radio tower in East Medford which has been the center of controversy is to be moved. Steve Best has the details.

The 130-foot tower in the Capital Hill neighborhood will be re-situated after the Medford City Council approved a $128,000 proposal to do so, in an effort to find a compromise with local residents.

On the recommendation of Medford Police Chief Tim George, the tower will be moved onto Medford Water Commission land, to replace a smaller tower that is already there.

The city erected the tower in December 2010 without informing the neighborhood, but it never became operational.

No time frame has yet been given for the move to be made.
