Date of Show:
Fri 19th August Charging stations for electric cars will soon be moving south from cities to the country, and it may not be long before we see them in Southern Oregon. Steve Best has more…
By the end of October, a new group of 8 charging stations are slated to go online along Interstate 5 between Eugene and the California border. Stations will be no more than 50 miles apart, reflecting the current range of the electric vehicles.
Charging stations will offer restrooms and convenience stores, but will only be able to handle one car at a time. However with only an estimated 800 electric vehicles spread among Oregon’s near-4 million population, the prospect of waiting lines is small – for now.
