The Republican race for a Jackson County Board of Commissioners seat is already heating up, with two former candidates throwing their hats into the ring. Steve Best takes a look at the field so far…

Jackson County Republican Party chairman Doug Breidenthal and Central Point city councilor Kay Harrison are the first candidates to enter the race for a Board of Commissioners seat.

They will be vying for the Commissioner No. 2 seat, currently held by C.W. Smith. Smith has said he is not planning to seek re-election.

More candidates are expected to join the field ahead of the May 15th  primary
