With the advent of shorter days, cooler temperatures, and possible imminent rain, some public restrictions on fires have been terminated. Steve Best has more…

The Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest has discontinued its public use restrictions for fires on the Wild Rivers, Siskiyou Mountains and High Cascades Ranger Districts effective today.

Fire danger on the Forest however remains high, and the industrial fire precaution level remains at level 2. This prohibits power saw use, welding, blasting or metal cutting between 1 and 8pm.

Forest visitors are urged to remain cautious with fire, and to make sure campfires and smoking materials are completely extinguished before leaving.
