A report shows that hiring among Oregon’s small businesses fell slightly in October. Steve Best has more...

The report, by online payroll firm Intuit, reflects a slowdown in job creation nationwide.

Among 15 states tracked, job growth in Oregon decreased by 0.4% - the steepest drop for employers with fewer than 20 workers.

Small businesses across the nation added 30,000 jobs in October, while the private sector as a whole saw growth of 110,000 positions, both of these sets of figures down from September.

Despite this, another study found that the mood among small business owners remains upbeat.
