Nate Mayben Tabbed As New Cascade Christian Baseball Coach

By Jim McCoy Tue 6th August Sportshigh school baseballNate Mayben
Medford Mustangs baseball coach Nate Mayben, a former North Medford High standout, has been named as the new head baseball coach at Cascade Christian. Mayben succeeds John Bruce, who has had recurring health issues in recent years, and announced his retirement following the Challengers' 2013 campaign. Prior to his return to the Rogue Valley, Mayben served as baseball coach for Corban University in Salem, where he also played collegiate baseball after graduating from North in 2000. During his tenure at Corban, 12 of his players were all-conference selections, and two of his players were drafted by major league teams. Bruce guided Cascade Christian won the Oregon 3A baseball title in 2012 with a victory over arch rival Santiam Christian. After a strong regular season run in 2013, the Challengers were eliminated in the quarterfinals by Bandon Pacific.
