The Medford Rogues are proud to announce that five players have been selected for the 2014 WCL All-Star Game. The game is scheduled for July 21 in Klamath Falls, OR, home of the WCL’s Klamath Falls Gems. With a three-division format in 2014, the WCL has split the All-Star teams into a north and south format representing six teams and 21 players on each squad. Medford joins the South team along with representatives from Corvallis, Klamath Falls, Bend, Kitsap and Cowlitz. Voted to the team by WCL coaches, Medford is represented by LHP David Peterson (U. of Oregon), RHP Nathan Kuchta (Cypress College), C Tanner Lubach (Nebraska), 1B Victor Garcia Jr. (Texas Pan-Am) and OF Spencer Smith. In addition, 1B Nathan Etheridge (Western Oregon University) will represent the Rogues in the WCL Home Run Derby prior to the All-Star Game. “We can’t tell you how proud we are of our guys, not just how they’ve played but how they’ve represented the team and Medford,” Rogues General Manager Chuck Heeman said. “We’re happy they’ve been chosen by their peers to represent the league and our team and we look forward to seeing them in action on Monday in Klamath Falls.”
