Terry Rasmussen has been named interim boy's head basketball coach at Crater High School. He will take the reins from Glenn Johannes, who has not been cleared by doctors after suffering a stroke earlier this year.
Prior to becoming an assistant coach to Johannes last season, Rasmussen was JV boy's basketball coach for seven seasons at Cascade Christian. After playing at Eagle Point High School, the Medford area real estate broker has coached youth basketball on and off for 30 years.
Rasmussen has a special family connection on the team. Point guard Luke Pomeroy is Rasmussen's grandson. Moving to the 5-A ranks after re-alignment, Rasmussen says his team should be competitive for a league title, though he expects tough competition from Springfield.
