Hanley Farm: Annual Scarecrow Festival

October 5 @ 11:00 am - October 6 @ 4:00 pm

Free

The Southern Oregon Historical Society is sponsoring its annual Scarecrow Festival at Hanley Farm, Saturday and Sunday, October 5 and 6 from 11a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. In the centuries-old tradition farmers used to save their crops, you can make your own scarecrow. When you’ve completed your scarecrow, you can enter it in the Scarecrow Contest and compete for a People’s Choice Award, OR you can take your scarecrow home with you.

Everything you need to make a scarecrow will be available in a kit for just $15 ($10 for SOHS Members). And if you haven’t participated in the Scarecrow Festival before, and you are a novice scarecrow-maker, if you need help there will be volunteers who will be happy to assist you. While you’re at the farm plan to take a hayride, paint a pumpkin or bob for an apple, and tour the Hanley House ($5 for adults; $3 for Children 12 and younger). Finally, be sure to view the dozens of scarecrows entered to the People’s Choice Award, then cast your vote. If you chose to enter your scarecrow in the contest, you may be the lucky winner!

Fun for the whole Family! Don’t miss thia chance to be part of the Scarecrow Festival Weekend!
