OSU Master Food Preservers: 2019 Volunteer Training Course

Embark on an eight-class learning adventure in food preservation taught by certified Master Food Preservers. Learn to prepare garden produce for preserving, the ins-and-outs of food preservation equipment, and food and kitchen safety.

How do you water-bath and pressure-can safely and efficiently? Want to prepare fruits vegetables, herbs, and snacks in a dehydrator; make scrumptious jerky and sausage; harness fermentation’s natural process to create sauerkraut and crock-pickle vegetables? Join the 2019 Jackson County Master food Preservers for in-depth training and certification!

Thursday classes are April 4 through May 23, 9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. $150 + $50 for class manual. 70 volunteer educational service hours required. Classes are held at the OSU Extension Auditorium, 569 Hanley Rd in Central Point.
