Quilt & Genealogy Talk: From Missouri to Medford

January 28 @ 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm

Free

January 28, Native American and Historian Tom Smith, keeper of several quilts made by his grandmother and mother, will share the quilts’ stories and their unique histories. Mostly hand-stitched and embellished with embroidery and ribbons and lace, the ladies made the quilts to commemorate weddings, births, and family celebrations from the 1920s to 1995. Many of these quilts were made in Missouri, and others in Medford, all of which are hand-quilted or tied, and are in excellent condition – although some do show signs of well-loved use!

Quilt and Genealogy Talks are free to everyone! Tuesday, January 28, 1:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. Jackson County Genealogy Library, 3405 S. Pacific Hwy, Medford. To register call 541-512-2340, email reception.JCGL@gmail.com, or stop by the Genealogy Library.
