We need your help! Children’s Heritage Fair, May 13-17

May 13 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am

 

For at least two generations, the Southern Oregon Historical Society has provided a Children’s Heritage Fair for regional fourth grade classes at Hanley Farm; an event that would not be possible without help from our volunteers!

We need:

  • Set-up/Take-down Crews: Monday, May 13, set-up, 9 to 11 a.m.; Friday, May 17, take-down, 2 to 4 p.m.

Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday, May 14 – 16: Shifts are 9 to 11:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day.

  • Parking Lot: Traffic Directors
  • Hearth Station: People to show children how to make butter, make flat bread, and someone to cook and man the coals.
  • Farm & Garden Station: People to help with faux cow milking, roping (fake) steers, and water-bucket hauling.
  • Oregon Trail: Person with knowledge of natural history and the Oregon Trail
  • Potter Assistant: We need an assistant the help prepare the clay.
